Wordless Wednesday Two

I finally managed to get a couple of shots of My Ronnii’s pretty little face.

She is such a pretty little girl, and Richie seems to be accepting her very well.

I just hope her tummy settles down a bit today as we have been up most of the night, if it doesn’t settle by noon-ish I may have to pop to the vets with her as I don’t want her to feel awful. Bless she is so good though she tries her best to get to the out to the garden if she wants to poop but she is not always making it and her little face falls poor angel. Thanks heavens for laminate flooring is all I can say………lol.

30 Day Blog – Day 5

My favourite quote now that is a tough one to be honest as there are so very many good ones.

I like this one

Most of the shadows of this life are caused by our standing in our own sunshine   -

Ralph Waldo Emerson a man who has a great many very very good and apt quotes and sayings  but I guess my favourite quote at this time in my life is ;

There is only one way to happiness, and that is to cease worrying things which are beyond the power of our will. – Epictetus

Now I have no idea who Epictetus is but I am sure I will find out but at this time in my life whilst I am waiting to find out if I need more chemo or chemo and radiotherapy or surgery or whatever they decide is next for me this is the one quote that works the best. What is the point of me worrying about what they are going to do or not do next because no matter how much I worry it is not going to change the outcome so why bother. So thanks Epictetus they are wise words indeed and I plan to live by them for the next few weeks at least.

PS.    I googled

Epictetus ( AD 55–AD 135) was a Greek Stoic philosopher. He was born a slave at Hierapolis, Phrygia (present day Pamukkale, Turkey), and lived in Rome until his exile to Nicopolis in northwestern Greece, where he lived most of his life and died. His teachings were noted down and published by his pupil Arrian in his Discourses. Philosophy, he taught, is a way of life and not just a theoretical discipline. To Epictetus, all external events are determined by fate, and are thus beyond our control, but we can accept whatever happens calmly and dispassionately. Individuals, however, are responsible for their own actions, which they can examine and control through rigorous self-discipline. Suffering arises from trying to control what is uncontrollable, or from neglecting what is within our power. As part of the universal city that is the universe, human beings have a duty to care for all fellow humans. The person who followed these precepts would achieve happiness.
